A character's origin is a fluid concept and may be somewhat subjective, as it can represent a person's land of birth, a place in which they have resided for some time, or some political unit (such as a kingdom or empire) which they feel their closest affinity for. It is, essentially, the place that a character considers home, even if they don't presently live there.
