HOLD allows you to pick up an item and hold it in a normal, non-threatening manner. It can be used synonymously with GET, or can be used to stop WIELDing an item as a weapon and simply hold onto it instead.
Usage
- HOLD <item|wielded object>
- HOLD <item> from <container|room object>
Notes
- It's important to remember that HOLD represents possessing an object in a harmless manner -- so someone simply holding a sword, for instance, will not be ready to use it. They are holding it in a harmless way and that is deliberate. To use something as a weapon, you must WIELD it first.
- Objects can be held in the right hand, left hand, both hands, or teeth. To change where an object is held, use SWITCH or SWAP.
- Many smaller items might be held at one time. Objects too heavy might need to be carried, with both hands.
