The RAISE command has both social and action functions. As a social, it allows you to raise your hand or rise up on your toes. As an action, it lets you raise or lower the hood on a cloak or other hooded garment. Raising the hood of a garment helps keep you dry when it is raining, snowing, or sleeting.

RAISE <adverb>
