WIELD allows you to hold an item in such a way that it may be used as a weapon. You can pick up an item or take it from a container and wield it, or you can wield an item that you are already HOLDing. DRAW is an alternative command to wield something.
Usage
- WIELD <held item>
>wield stick
You shift your grip on a silver birchwood stick, wielding it in your right hand.
- WIELD <unheld item>
>wield stick (when on ground)
You pick up a silver birchwood stick and wield it.
Notes
- It will take some roundtime to wield something, and you should emote about it, because that means your character is ready to use the object in a harmful manner.
- If you move between rooms while wielding an object, this fact will be shown as you enter each room. For example, "A stout black-haired inspector walks out of a dilapidated caravanserai through the courtyard gate, wielding an inspector's baton in her right hand." This will also show when anyone LOOKs at the room.
