Khazi wool is an extremely warm and silky type of wool sheared from the khazi mountain goat of Saramat. The fibers are quite long and very soft, and give both woven and felted fabrics made from them a subtle attractive sheen. Khazi wool is a resilient fabric that is also very weather resistant, so it is often used in outerwear such as overtunics, cloaks, scarves, and caps, in addition to blankets and carpets. Khazi felt can be used to produce durable, water-resistant hats as well as tents, both of which are common among the Sarmatiyyan tribes. Elsewhere, however, khazi wool is considered a luxury item due to its restricted source and the skill needed to produce the finest articles.
