Lazyleaf is a succulent plant native to the Naghrimat in Tessere, which is the only known place in the world where it grows naturally. The plant has fat spatulate leaves, 4-8" long, which grow from a dense central bundle of woody growth no more than 10" in height. Rubbery in texture, the leaves sprawl out in limp grey-green layers in all directions around the core, the lowest layer of leaves lying upon the ground and each successive layer resting on the ones beneath.

Uses

It is not the "lazy" growth habit of the plant that is alone responsible for its name. When the leaves are crushed they produce a distinctively colored celadon sap, very thick and sticky. This sap can be refined into a substance that, when absorbed into the bloodstream, can induce a pronounced torpor or even short-lived paralysis if the dose is high enough. Angrosh dwelling in the Hazari Desert sometimes coat their blowgun darts with lazyleaf sap for hunting, and the plant is also cultivated for medical uses across north Idiri -- though it is a distinct horticultural challenge to keep it alive and thriving anywhere outside its native environment.
