Inikiskin

Inikiskin is a good quality leather, soft and flexible with an almost velvety texture. It is culled from the iniki, a small antelope common to the Hazari Desert. Some half-domesticated herds are kept by Tessouare herders for this purpose, while other leather is furnished from wild animals by hunters.

Inikiskin is lighter and less durable than common leather, and significantly less coarse than zharalhide. It takes dye exceptionally well, and can be found for sale in a wide variety of colors besides its natural pale buff hue. It is often used for smaller articles such as gloves, slippers, belts, knife sheaths, and mizuda purses, as well as upholstery for stools and couches. Inikiskin is a prized material for archery gloves, as it protects the skin while still giving an excellent feel for the bowstring. In the countryside, it may be made into full garments such as shirts and trousers, though these would be considered rather too rustic for most city dwellers. Inikiskin is common enough to be accessible to people of moderate means, while the highest quality inikiskin prepared by a skilled leatherworker can fetch higher prices from a wealthier clientele.
