Omrazir: Climate

The climate of Omrazir tends towards mildness, being relatively warm in winter and, if not exactly cool in summer, then at least significantly less scorching than the interior of the continent. The area receives around twenty inches of precipitation annually, with most of this falling during the winter and early spring. Most moisture comes in the form of rain or fog. Snow, though not unheard of, is fairly infrequent and generally leaves only a dusting. Though seldom extremely cold, the winters of Omrazir can be chilly and prone to drizzle and thick fog, the latter particularly at night.

The area is subject to the occasional blue norther, a frontal wave of cold air and blue-grey clouds that sweeps down from the north, bringing with it storms and raging seas. These weather events, called "Nilanzi's Breath" by the locals, typically occur during the months of either Oniris or Rashani and can make passage of the Strait of Sorrows nearly impossible for a few days until the seas settle.
