Tamrasset Massif

The Tamrasset Massif is a chain of interconnected peaks and plateaus in central Raziya. Cut off from the Sharizaar Massif by the deeply carved channel of the River Tamrasset, these mountains are less monumental than the Sharizaar though still impressive in their own right. Whereas the Sharizaar forms for the most part a single unbroken tableland, the Tamrasset Massif is cut through with winding canyons that create a trackless labyrinth below and a confusing network of ridgelines and dead-end cliffs above. While the river has cut its western edge, the massif's eastern boundary is formed by the Hall of the Wind, a still narrower canyon that separates it in turn from the Cliffs of Paradise. Although seemingly harsh and remote, the Tamrasset Massif is well frequented by the Razmani people whose cliffside dwellings frame the course of the river on either side.
