Tells
A tell is a sign that you are not being entirely truthful in your words, actions, or feelings. For instance, you might be acting like nothing is wrong when you're actually upset, trying to bluff while playing cards, acting as if you're brave when you're afraid, faking concern when you really don't care, or pretending to be sincere when you're not at all. Whatever the circumstances, adding tells to your roleplay can give other people clues as to your actual intentions -- but only if they're sharp enough to notice.
For these situations, you can write out your tells in two different ways: as tags in a regular emote, or with a TELLMOTE. These depictions of tells work by making a hidden roll of your composure stat and Dissembling skill against the acuity and emotional observation skills of those observing you. If someone beats the roll and notices your tell, they will see the text you wrote for it. If they lose the role and don't notice, they won't see a thing beyond your ordinary emotes. If someone is actively WATCHing you, they will have a better chance of noticing any tells you give.
Here are a few examples of some tells that someone might put out:
