Zsimik

The zsimik is a venomous lizard found throughout much of north Idiri and Near Ruleska. It favors sand and gravel deserts where outcroppings of stone provide ledges on which to bask, and crevices from which to ambush prey or shelter from the heat of the day. There are numerous kinds of zsimik spread across their range, but most are striking creatures with a mix of brightly colored and dark scales that create intricate beaded patterns or give the effect of jewels scattered on a dark background. They have blunt heads and stocky bodies, as well as fat tails that are considered very good eating. Zsimiks are, however, somewhat dangerous creatures due to their potent venom. Though generally docile, they will attempt to bite if caught or otherwise provoked, and deliver their venom through the grooves in their lower teeth.
