I am writing this to you to thank you for the gift you left for me. Its been dismal here but I hope to continue carrying on with my duties as the cook. Though there is much destruction I can see why we need it. I fear though that we will all perish if something doesn't happen soon.
I'm also writing to you to let you know that I do appreciate your work here and the chance to cook for your crew. Everyone has been generally kind and considerate even though there is not a large supply of foods I can get my hands on. they don't seem to mind the never ending supply of bread, and the fresh fish I am certain is a boon. It makes my job easier to know that even in these dismal times someone is happy with my work. I cannot tell you how much I doubt my own good cooking. But since there are no complaints as yet all is well.
Thank you once again for such kindness towards me and your gift. I was quite surprised to find it this morning.
