The (Jingle) Bells of St. Loomis 1 of 1

As dawn breaks on the town, the people of St. Loomis begin to awaken to the busy feast day of St. Hollyberry.... and to the sound of bells. Jingling and chiming with every breeze off the bay, the bells are discovered hanging from the festival garland festooned all around town in preparation for the holy Days of Pine and Holly. And word soon spreads along with their cheery music: it seems Lucy Mudlark, the pawn shop girl from Beacon Row, and some of the shipwrecked folk from the Dolphin -- most especially Otty Smythe's apprentice and his friends -- have worked to make an abundance of little harness bells and string them up all across St. Loomis, "to help St. Hollyberry find her voice again."

There's great amazement at this among the townsfolk... along with a few uneasy mutterings about heathen furreners meddling in the business of good Kalentian folk. But most people seem filled with wonder and delight, and take to heart the remembrance of the saint herself, who crossed the sea to find kinship with all the people of old Grey Lea.
