ASK DIRECTIONS

I noticed that it doesn't do a good job giving directions at all. Is this tied to a skill?

It's not tied to a skill. Is there a bug where it's not giving directions? Can you explain a little more about how it's not helping?

It seems to always stops working/fails in this room:

This moderately busy street conducts traffic from the center of the city to the so-called Bloody Quarter of the Yehani, while passing through a dense mix of other neighborhoods such as the one accessed by a fish-carved wooden gate to the northeast. Visible in the other direction is a deep ditch from which the sound of rushing water emanates, though the water itself lies out of sight. Following the steep cut of the bank, the Via bends to the south even as it stays pressed close against adobe walls to the southeast.
Also here are a skeletal midnight-black-haired guard and a persimmon-eyed guard with braided hair.
Humid heat hangs stiflingly below the sun.
Cardinal Exits: southeast, northeast: wooden gate carved with a leaping fish (open), and south

You ask for directions to the closest bank, and a passerby tells you the way.

Hmm, maybe pathing fails in that room due to some bug... the guards were stuck there a while ago, too. Thanks for the report! I'll see if I can figure it out. Meanwhile I think there should be maps somewhere... it'd be nice to have maps that showed the locations of important places, to help people get used to the city layout. 

There are some player created. Maybe they can be added to the wiki?

You know what, re: pathing breaking - ask directions to the bank would ALWAYS dead-end me in Taklit Park, and that is also where a few of the NPC guards permanently hang out now. I think you're onto something!

I did post a kind of 'landmark' map in the other thread on directions. Might be able to simplify it into something that could be represented in game... hmmm...

I bugged a few other locations that it fails.
