Help Topic: Attention

Category: Observation -- There are no limitations on this command.

If an area is particularly crowded, or you're just particularly focused,
or maybe you're using a screenreader, it might be a good idea to use
the ATTENTION command.

Usage:
attention here
attention
alert

Using ATTENTION by itself will normalize your attention -- you'll no
longer be watching any person or direction, and you'll see any emote
happening that you might end up seeing. However, you will not see
extra details.

Using ALERT will cause you to normalize your attention but also be
in a state where you are noticing extra details, such as whether
someone scans in a direction or turns a page.

If your attention is HERE, you will only see emotes happening in your
specific vicinity -- as well as those happening in the general area,
provided that they are 'loud' emotes (not tabletalk, TMOTEs). You will
not see 'loud' emotes at other vicinities, or tabletalk anywhere
besides your vicinity.

The exception is system emotes, or rumotes -- you will still see those,
regardless of how your attention is 'here'.

Using the attention command is a primarily OOC spam-filtering mechanism,
and will not broadcast any system emotes from your character.
