After a brief chitchat in the Gamehelp channel this past weekend, in which a couple of people (thank you Kinsa and Yasin!) expressed interest in helping out with menu items for Omrazir, I promised to put forth a call for food and drink on the forums for anyone else who might be interested. So here it finally is!
I do have a list of items I would love to see at various Omrazi establishments -- see below. But there's room for lots more beyond or instead of those. Some options might include:
-- Regional variation on any of the dishes below
-- Quality variations on any of the dishes below
-- Low-end food in general
-- Completely original regional dishes
-- Completely original cultural dishes, especially for Razmani and Angrosh, but others also welcome
-- Whatever else anyone might want to run by me!
If anyone is interested in "claiming" anything from the list below, just reply to this post and say so. If people have specific questions on anything, feel free to either post here or send me an OOCmail.
All final submissions should go to me via OOCmail, and I will find homes for them around Omrazir. :)
On one final related note: If anyone is interested in doing a little building, there are some eateries that could also be desc'd by someone -- off the top of my head, places to go for Salawi or Jalanit food, or a Razmani place for the Razmani Enclave. Eateries could be outdoor cafes, food carts, a stall in the bazaar, a room within one of the embassies, a regular sit-down indoor restaurant, etc. I'm willing to hear other ideas on this too! Omrazir is stupidly large; there are plenty of places to fit things. XD

Guidelines
For anyone who has played around with cooking, you have a pretty good idea how designing a new food or drink item works. For those who haven't, these are the basics of what is needed:
name: plain cake
sdesc: a plain cake
taste: ['This cake is sweet.', 'It tastes sweet and plain.']
rotten taste: The cake tastes rotten.
scent: cake
rotten scent: rotten cake
special scent: None
freshdesc: This is a plain cake.
rottendesc: This is a rotten cake.
Since these are items off a menu, there's no need to specify ingredients. Every item should have a minimum of two taste messages, but more is fine! Also, in case anyone is wondering about "scent" versus "special scent", regular scents appear in the format "It smells like <cake>" when you smell it, whereas a special scent would be a completely custom line, e.g., "The delectable aroma of rich chocolate laced with sweet sugary glaze blissfully overwhelms your senses."

Omrazir Cusine Wish List
(Some of these have descriptions because I am lazy and ripped them straight off the menu for my dearly beloved eatery in a previous game. T_T New recipes don't have to exactly follow those descriptions, I just thought they could be helpful! And again, other foods/drinks besides these are welcomed!)
Foods
Stone-baked Flatbread -- Flat circles of unleavened bread baked upon heated rocks in the traditional way of the desert.
Pita Bread -- Slightly fluffy rounds of leavened bread, soft on the inside with a mildly crisp exterior.

Tahchin (Savory Rice Cake) -- A casserole dish of layered buttery rice and tender yoghurt-marinated chicken, cooked to a crispy gold layer on the bottom.

Sweet Rice Pudding
Sorbet - Apricot, peach, melon, lemon, lime, lusk, etc.
Drinks
Fruit juices - Lemon, lime, lusk, hibiscus, melon, etc.
Goat's milk
Telosi Retsina
Plomo Port
Heqet -- Amunati beer, brewed from emmer wheat or barley
Thick & Creamy Qaysumi Tea -- A black tea heavily sweetened with fresh cream and vanilla, and spiced with a hint of cardamom. Can be served hot or chilled.
Iced Thick & Creamy Qaysumi Tea -- Created from the same ingredients as Qaysumi tea, but made by mixing ice with the cream for a delicious cold dessert. Served with a sprig of mint and a cinnamon stick.
Wine -- Ripped straight from the Irzal page on the wiki:
Despite the fact that imbibing alcohol is prohibited by the Azadi faith, wine produced in Irzal is popular throughout the caliphate among those with a less orthodox outlook. Many of the best wines come from vineyards in the Whisper Hills, including the famed Black Whisper wine from the nearly black grapes that are grown there. Ennescul produces several light and fruity wines such as Golden Note and Ridma's Kiss, while the singular Firewine comes from the Shurh valley. Qushtun wine, the oldest continuously produced wine in the province, comes from the Aterousa Mountain vineyards north of Awrazat.
Thank you all, and I hope you have fun!
