After some time of preparation and literal last-minute delays, I snuck off on a road trip vacation for a little over a week, highlights of which included: helping to rescue a stray cat from a parking lot beside a busy highway, getting my car's lower bumper half torn off by the Hidden Pit of Doom and tying it back on with bungee cables and zip ties, seeing a pair of Pancho Villa's spurs and another set of spurs from ca. 13th-century Morocco, having my wrist watch almost eaten by a mule, the highest dew point I have ever seen (84°F with a temperature of 95°F, making for a heat index of 124°F), watching an apprentice-level blacksmith make an S-hook from start to finish (heat index of probably only like 102° then), and hiking through an area that looked amazingly like the Rassine Hill after the rainy season:

All that to say, I've spent most of the month either absent or preoccupied with being so, but I am now back and with no big plans for a while! So after a little settling back in I should be more active and available around Avaria again. :)
