After a few passengers and the captain gathered in the crew quarters, seemingly to speak to that rat-chewed prisoner, rumours begin flying, mostly through the crew. Apparently a conversation took place between the captain and the former prisoner, the convict, right in front of everyone who happened to be there, and it's sparked all kinds of speculation on what's going to happen when the Dolphin reaches St. Loomis - that Inaya is going to give the Dolphin back to Paldeo. That she isn't. That the ship's being abandoned, the captain running off with her Irzali ward. That it's being repaired. That she's sailing it to Omrazir. To Al-Sabiyyah. That there aren't any funds for repairs. That Inaya has stolen the ship's funds herself, and intends to use them to escape, leaving the crew destitute and alone in a frigid backwater port in winter. No one seems to know the real truth, and everyone seems troubled about it, and wants answers. The captain herself has disappeared - into her cabin, apparently to sleep, but isn't taking visitors.
