26-08-13 14: 35:53-05 [-] a lanky, copper-skinned man with hawkish features: Oh, yeah, a good point. A lot of stuff is added due to people RPing around it. Like I play an archer and a short while after I got started we had a bowyer shop put in.
26-08-13 14: 37:30-05 [-] a lanky, copper-skinned man with hawkish features: In general I'd advise you to go broad so you can pivot a little if need be. Pick a couple few different skills that could be applied to several different jobs.
26-08-13 14: 39:48-05 [-] the groovy female: It looks like cooking, tailoring, carpentry, smithing, herbalism, and pottery all have some coded crafting recipes. There's at least one active PC who's decent at each of these, but it rarely hurts to double up. Most of your income will probably come from an NPC-facing job, so your career can be more of a thing to RP around.
26-08-13 14: 41:34-05 [-] colavina: Is there any coded crafts related to glass blowing?
26-08-13 14: 42:03-05 [-] the groovy female: I don't think so but let me just confirm.
26-08-13 14: 42:57-05 [-] colavina: would the staff appreciate a player interested in helping them develop that, or would they see it as a pain?
26-08-13 14: 43:54-05 [-] the groovy female: My guess is it's more a coder time thing, but it's possible they could benefit! I'm just a player so no idea, you could find out with a petition. Or take the skill anyway for RP and then see.
26-08-13 14: 44:18-05 [-] the groovy female: Staff tend to be on a little later at night EST, maybe 3-4 hours from now.
26-08-13 14: 44:45-05 [-] colavina: I'm happy to fill a gap in the crafting stream if there is one.
