I have been using some Spotify playlists that have worked really well for me.

The Arab World playlist has been clutch for Marwa. Thank you Esfandiar!
I came back from watching Dune: Part Two yesterday, and aside from my eyes and ears being thoroughly rattled (in the best way!), I thought the score was so gorgeous and that some of it could work well for Avaria. If you are planning to watch the film and do not like being spoiled on any material (including music), do NOT click the link! |

I'm really resonating with low-key dire vibes right now given our characters' situations in the sea of mist, so here are some atmospheric tracks that I found :)

Everyone has been sharing some fantastic music on here -- some of these are great new discoveries for me! Since there was ney playing in the galley this morning, I thought I'd share one of my favorite ney albums which happily is available on YouTube: Hossein 'Omoumi, Ney |

Since our motley crew of characters is currently in Ensor, here is some music that I gathered as inspiration for the Mistwatch and the misty reaches! Of course this is based on my very limited knowledge and simply going off of the vibes I imagined, which for me boiled down to bleak, dramatic, and unsettling. :))

I listened to the ney album while at work and loved it. So calming. :)
More music! El Helwa Di - instrumental cover by the Ayoub Sisters (here is a vocal cover with translated lyrics) My understanding is that this is a very famous classic song by Sayed Darwish, but I only just discovered it and wanted to share it! It felt very Avaria/Omrazir to me. What a bop! |

From replying to Kinsa's post on musical inspirations, I thought this might be good to post over here as well: Celestial Harmonies: The Music of Islam An overview of some different musical traditions that could be found in different parts of the Sirdabi Caliphate as well. The site itself provides a small amount of background for each of the albums in this compilation, so it's worth checking out. Most of the individual albums in this sampler are available on YouTube: Volume One: Al-Qahirah, Classical Music of Cairo Volume Two: Music of the South Sinai Bedouins Volume Three: Music of the Nubians Volume Four: Music of the Arabian Peninsula Volume Six: Al-Maghrib, Gnawa Music Volume Seven: Al-Andalus, Andalusian Music Volume Eight: Folkloric Music of Tunisia Volume Nine: Mawlawiyah Music of the Whirling Dervishes Volume Ten: Qur'an Recitation Volume Eleven: Music of Yemen Volume Twelve: Music of Iran Volume Thirteen: Music of Pakistan |

Stumbled across the soundtrack for a film called Bab'Aziz, which incorporates poetry by Rumi! Linking just a couple of songs:

In honor of today's feast, here's some music: This is just (ahem) a little less authentic, but I love the atmosphere these tracks create: |
